Ohio’s Concealed Carry Laws Class – Information:
Senate Bill 215 has been signed into law and will legalize carrying a concealed handgun without a license in Ohio beginning on June 13, 2022.
If you’re familiar with firearms and plan to carry concealed without a Concealed Carry License (CCW) in Ohio, we strongly urge you to take this comprehensive law class beforehand. This class focuses on the legal aspects of carrying a firearm according to Ohio Law. We discuss the dos and don’ts of carrying concealed as well as when you can and cannot draw your firearm. De-escalation tactics as well as how to react to a threat are covered.
If deadly force is used in self-defense or defense of another, we discuss the conditions that must be met as well as the burden of proof to justify the event according to Ohio Law. We also cover how to interact with Law Enforcement from a 911 call to when officers arrive on scene. We incorporate scenario training into this class and give real-world examples to help you connect with how these laws specifically apply to you.
If you have your Concealed Carry License (CCW) and are interested in a Law Refresher, this would be a great class to consider.
We live in a time when the second amendment is under attack. Many aspects of Ohio’s Concealed Carry laws are not intuitive, so knowing what you can and can’t do before you start carrying is vitally important in today’s political climate. There is no leniency when a firearm is involved and ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Important Things To Consider:
- If you travel out of state, you are not able to carry concealed in a reciprocal state unless you have an Ohio Concealed Carry License. The only exception is if you’re traveling to a state that allows non-residents to carry concealed without a license.
- A Concealed Carry License requires taking the full 8-hour Concealed Carry Class and applying for the license within three (3) years of taking the class.
- An Ohio Concealed Carry License allows you to purchase a firearm without running a NICS check to speed up the firearm purchasing process.
- A background check is run when you apply for a Concealed Carry License. That background check covers the requirement to purchase a firearm in Ohio, so you can use your Ohio CCW License in place of the NICS check when purchasing a firearm.
- Training is so important! If you plan to carry concealed but are not familiar with firearms, we strongly recommend taking the Concealed Carry Class. The class incorporates the Ohio Concealed Carry Laws with Gun Safety, Handling, and Range Time.
- You can take any scheduled Concealed Carry Class and carry concealed without a license in Ohio after June 13, 2022.
- Strongly consider our Defensive Handgun Series if you plan to Carry Concealed with or without a license.
- Our Defensive Series consists of five (5) classes that incorporates in front of the firing line, muscle memory, and real-world scenario training.

Why Choose Be Elite Tactical For Your Concealed Carry Laws Training?
Be Elite Tactical offers more comprehensive CCW Law Training Classes than strictly covering the basic state-mandated licensing requirements. Since we maintain small class sizes, you’ll receive an in-depth course with enhanced practical training. Also, we incorporate practical examples during the class from Police Officer’s who have experience investigating CCW crimes. Therefore, we provide additional legal insights into understanding the Laws and simplify confusing topics. Furthermore, all of our training is based on real-life experience with instructors who have lived what they’re teaching. Their experience includes careers in Law Enforcement (SWAT), Military (Special Operations) and Security Contractors. As a result, Be Elite Tactical trains and equips future Concealed Carriers to fully grasp the responsibilities of carrying a concealed handgun while fully understanding and abiding within the laws.
In conclusion, your concealed carry permit bares great responsibility. How should you react to certain situations? What are your legal rights? What additional responsibilities go along with your permit? Where can you legally carry? What areas are restricted? How should you react if found in a threatening situation? Most of all, consider whom you’re paying for training. Also, ask about the instructor’s practical experience and their class sizes. Get trained by Be Elite Tactical and Carry Confidently!
SOME COMPANIES ADVERTISE “NRA INSTRUCTORS” TO IMPLY QUALITY TRAINERS. HOWEVER, DOES AN “NRA INSTRUCTOR” MEAN THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT?
Many people don’t realize that an NRA Instructor is someone who has simply completed a two-day instructor certification course and likely has no practical experience. While some NRA Instructors have relevant experience on top of the NRA certification, they are few and far between.
More importantly, many instructors today are the product of Instructor Certification Courses, simplifying the material into a concise packet of teaching material. When you pose “what if” questions, they cannot answer your question off of first-hand experience with the situation. As a result, this makes it really difficult to be prepared to carry a firearm to effectively defend yourself. Therefore, to carry confidently, you need to fully grasp the material, have your questions answered, and learn how to react to situations you may encounter with your handgun.
Carrying a concealed handgun bares great responsibility. As a result, we strongly recommend taking our Defensive Handgun Course Series after the CCW Class. In addition, each Defensive Handgun Class teaches different skills to comfortably carry and react with your handgun in real-life scenario training. In conclusion, train with Be Elite Tactical to receive Training Through Experienced Instructors who have actually “been there and done it.”
